The Olympics in Rio, by our Brazilian colleagues“I can be a part of this history.” That’s the sentiment of Claudinei Aparecido Cerqueira, operator of the rolling mill at ArcelorMittal Piracicaba. Like many other Brazilian colleagues, Claudinei is working to provide the steel that 2 major sports events hosted in his country will need: the World Cup (2014) and the Olympics (2016)!

Pride and satisfaction are what Claudinei, who has been with the company for more than 30 years, is feeling.  “As an employee of the unit, I know I can be a part of this history, mainly because we are already adapting ourselves to respond to the infrastructure demand, developing new products which will be directly used in the constructions sites of the World Cup and the Olympic Games,” he says.

As a Brazilian, Claudinei is proud of his country. He mentions that hosting such important events will bring a series of benefits, strengthening the economy and increasing demand in the work market. Not to mention the opportunity of “showing the world that, besides samba, Brazil has hard working people and many other wonders”.
