How to win a trip to London with a little help from your daughter
Liliana Hutanu works in the Quality Department of ArcelorMittal Galati, in Romania. Partly thanks to her elder daughter Elena, she has won a trip for the both of them to attend the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Moctezuma: Aztec Ruler’, which our Group sponsors to mark our commitment to Mexico. How did they do it?
Out of 662 participants, Liliana is one of the 3 employees who will be attending the event after taking an internal survey composed of 10 questions about the Aztecs and the British Museum. This is how they got all answers right:
“I took a print of the quiz home, in order to do some research and try to find the answers. I gave the paper with the questions to my elder daughter, Elena, who passed her first important English test in June and then started to read novels in English. I told her: ‘if we answer all these questions, we go to London to the British Museum to see the exhibition.’
At first sight, the quiz seemed to be difficult, but if you search for the information on the internet and in encyclopaedias, the mystery gets solved gradually.
The last question (‘Cortes came in search of gold. But why do so few of the Aztec’s gold objects survive?’) was the most difficult in my opinion. All the other 9 questions had clear-cut answers, like in mathematics, but the 10th one was tricky. “No gold in the Aztec’s region” could not be true, “most of the gold objects buried in the Aztec’s tombs” is doubtful, so we took our intuition as a guide and said “the Conquistadores melted most of it down”. An educated guess, I concluded, when I saw 10 points out of 10 at the end!”
Well done, Liliana… and Elena – Enjoy your trip to London!

Once again it proves the fact that we should never put obstacles for ourselves saying : ” No, I won’t do it! It’s not possible that i can win!..”We need just do it ,every time!

“Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” Congratulations to all of you for winning! I found the 10th question buried somewhere in the British Musuem’s website.
