CR competition winner chosen – François Decomps!
In the July 2008 issue of boldspirit, a question was asked about Corporate Responsibility: “Why is it important for us?” Many ArcelorMittal people took the time to answer. After much deliberation, the Corporate Responsibility Team chose François Decomps from ArcelorMittal’s Global Purchasing in France. Congratulations François!
The quiz asked people to explain why – and how – they feel CR is important for ArcelorMittal in 250 words. The responses provided many different perspectives on this complex and important topic.
Over 120 people answered either the online survey or sent email responses in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese. After organising and translating all the submissions, the Corporate CR Team, headed by Rémi Boyer, Vice President, read all of the answers and agreed together on the winner.
François was pleased when he heard that he had won: “It was a really good surprise for me,” he said. “I am also interested in seeing what other colleagues have expressed in their entries. I entered the competition because I feel a very personal conviction about Corporate Responsibility which I wanted to come across in my response. I can tell you also that I rewrote it many times, as it was difficult to get into 250 words!”

I was pleased to see that the winner wrote from the heart.
