A Career Day/Job Fair, organised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was held in Buchanan on September 12-13, with major companies operating in the County, including ArcelorMittal Liberia, Liberia Agriculture Company (LAC), Buchanan Renewable, Equatorial Biofuels, United States Trading Company (USTC), ECOBANK and the Port of Buchanan in attendance.

The programme was aimed at expounding on the methods used in the application and attainment of jobs, as well as the guidance of high school students in career selection. The event brought together students from the various high schools in and around the Buchanan area, as well as thousands of job seekers.

During the first day of the fair, professionals from various companies including ArcelorMittal, officials of the Government and the United Nations made presentations in diverse fields of study. A number of other distinguished personalities made presentations on the importance of education, choosing the health sector as a profession and career planning/youth perspective.

The second day offered students and job seekers the opportunity to interact with cooperate executives in their respective tents /booths. It really was no surprise that the booth bearing the banner of ArcelorMittal Liberia, the largest investor in post war Liberia, received a massive turn-out of students and job seekers!
