On September 14, ArcelorMittal Galati, in Romania, organised a special 1-day event for all employees’ family and friends to celebrate “Steelmakers’ Day” and honour the hard work of everybody in the Company.

Almost 20,000 people were invited to the ‘Siderurgistul’ Stadium in Galati for this special feast. The party was exclusively dedicated to the employees and their guests, who received coupons for food and beverages. They also had the chance to buy other treats from the different tents installed around the stadium.

“Celebrating the steelmakers is an important tradition for us, as it gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude and respect for all employees and the work they do,” said Augustine Kochuparampil, CEO of ArcelorMittal Galati.

The steelmakers were invited to take part in a special programme, which included picnics, dances, pop and folk concerts featuring well known Romanian artists. After enjoying the traditional meatballs and beer sold, the thousands of participants danced for hours in front of the stage. The sunny weather was an important ingredient in this enthusiastic party.

At the end of the day, the employees who spent the day on the stadium and their guests enjoyed a firework show. The party was a real success.
