Stainless steel in swimming pools

When was the last time you went swimming? Have you ever slipped at the side of a swimming pool? I know I have. Thanks to our Building and Construction Support team, with their new steel design solution, pools can have no more nasty cracked tiles or sharp edges and they can also be slip-resistant. Everyone is safe!

To have a swimming pool made out of stainless steel is an innovative design solution that is technically proven and financially attractive. And although they have existed in Germany and Austria for years, they are still relatively new in countries like France.

The use of a single material for the manufacture of the pools makes it possible to join all the components by welding. It also helps to make the installations perfectly watertight. This way, there is no chance of bacteria, it is easy to clean and shows no signs of age. Its appearance will always look clean and shiny.

So think about it the next time you go swimming. If you think there is a better solution than having nice smooth, non-slip and easy to clean surfaces, please don’t hesitate to leave your comments.

Two articles: ‘Steel in Design’ and ‘Stainless steel in swimming pool’ have attracted my concern over use of steel in many more innovative ways and it must be much beyond regular commercial use which are in general in common people’s mind.
As a civil engineer I was using it as a structural component. But when I was asked by my Managing Director (of Rourkela Steel Plant[RSP],Orissa)to design an entrance gate for the main building, I was thrilled and finally it has become a landmark in Rourkela, Orissa, India. Thereafter MD gave me a number of opportunity to design structures and monuments made of steel, produced by RSP and each of these structures are now the bright images of RSP. The name of my MD is Dr. Sanak Mishra who is CEO,Greenfield Projects,India of ArcelorMittal.
So INNOVATION is the “call of the day” to take a big leap in the diresction of making steel more popular and whoelse can be the flag-bearer other than our company ArcelorMittal.
I have been directed by Mr. Vijay Bhatnagar, CEO India to introduce more and more steel for all our forthcoming works in the Green field Projects in Orissa and Jharkhand, India.
I have designed Public Toilet and Bus-stop shelters using steel and stainless steel. But I want more availability of standard designs and these may be made available of the shelf.
