Meeting Tobin Postma – one of ArcelorMittal’s interns

For today’s blog entry we asked intern Tobin Postma to tell us a little about his experience working for our Company. Here is what he says:

“I am two weeks into my internship with the ArcelorMittal Corporate Responsibility team. Although my desk is in London, I am writing this blog in Luxembourg after a two-day whirlwind schedule of meetings, site visits, lunches, dinners and voicing a radio ad – and I haven’t had to make anyone coffee yet.

I am in the final stages of completing my MBA specialising in Corporate Social Responsibility at The University of Nottingham in England. This three month internship forms a large part of the research for my final thesis, but I am doing a lot more than just reading articles.

I am working towards helping to develop an internal and external Corporate Responsibility environment for ArcelorMittal that will help to engage all of our stakeholders on relevant Corporate Responsibility matters. The challenge lies in creating innovative ways to involve and engage all stakeholders, especially ArcelorMittal’s 310,000 employees, so that we can begin to transform together. It will not be easy, but it is a challenge I relish and am determined to overcome.”

    Hi Iqbal, this is very nicely put. We will probably use it as a quote of the day on our intranet. In the next issue of boldspirit, which will be coming out in late July, early August, there is a big feature on our Corporate Responsibility interviewing the four member Corporate CR team.
