Wings for industry
On May 27 2008, the club “Les Elles de l’industrie” awarded ArcelorMittal Dunkerque, in France, for its specific action dedicated to the development of women’s technical competencies.
This project began in 2006. It is targeted at women who have been working in service sectors and are looking for a job. Launched by the Regional Council, the project was implemented through local agencies for work in the service industry.
A group of 10 women were trained at the same time at training centers in companies, over an 18 month period. This led them to receive 2 certificates in the Metallurgical field.
Four of these women were trained at the blast furnaces department and are now working at ArcelorMittal Dunkerque in production or maintenance.
