recycling-producer-of-freedom.jpgSteel is a unique material, which does not lose its strength or any other of its inherent properties, no matter how many times it is recycled. The “extra-large” steel columns used for the Freedom Tower are made up from recycled steel, and are just one spectacular proof of why steel can be considered a “green material”. ArcelorMittal will ship approximately 2,149 tonnes of jumbo beams from Differdange, Luxembourg, one of only two plants in the world that could meet all the project’s requirements. Each column weighs 730 pounds per foot and range in length from 30 to 56 feet for shipping.
The 1,776-foot-tall Freedom Tower will be erected in the World Trade Centre area. The project will be completed by July 2011.

“Steel is a unique material, which does not lose its strength or any other of its inherent properties, no matter how many times it is recycled.”
This is only to 50% right. And you know why ?
Steel rust with the time. So, the time win. Glass not rust and even if it is brocken, you can recycled glass. It don’t rust.
But for the recycling prozess – i n both cases, however – we need heat. So, as long as you have the oil for recycling the steel, everything is fine (same for glass), but if you don’t have it – good night at all.

    Just my 1 cent (Euro)
