“I go to the shopping mall with my uniform”
You may think that steelmaking is a man’s thing. If that’s the case, Danúbia Mutiz, one of our 15,000 Brazilian colleagues, can make you change your mind: she was the first woman to operate a finishing mill in the country… and she loves it.
“It’s good for women to achieve positions that have traditionally been for men. I have never felt a difference in terms of treatment for being a woman,” Danúbia says.
If you are lucky enough to visit the city of Vitória, in the state of Espirito Santo, one day, don’t be surprised if you find Danúbia when you go to the shopping mall.
How will you recognise her? Well, you can try to memorise her smiling face in the picture… or you can take a look at her original clothes: “I am so proud of working here that I go to the shopping mall with my ArcelorMittal uniform after work!”
