arcelormittal-staalhandel.jpgOn Thursday, January 17, 2008, Chateau Neercanne in Maastricht (NL) was the perfect location for customers, suppliers, producers, relatives and friends to pay tribute to Wim Gijsen, CCO, who served ArcelorMittal Staalhandel B.V. (formerly Lommaert Walserijproducten) for 25 years!

What made this event extra heart warming was that Wim asked that presents be given in the form of a donation to a fundraising project for two charities: a gift to the Foundation Toon Hermans Huis, a walk-in house for cancer patients and their relatives in the South of the Netherlands and a donation to the Harambee Foundation, realising better education in West Kenya.

In addition, the Board of ArcelorMittal Staalhandel NL/B supported Wim’s initiative by increasing the total amount to €10,000.

Friday, March 28 the cheques were presented to the favoured foundations in an atmosphere of shared effort. The result is a successful mutual project based on celebration, generosity and corporate responsibility. What a lovely way to mark a career!

Collaboration: Marjolijn van Prooijen, Management Support & Communicatie, ArcelorMittal Staalhandel B.V.
