Fun Walk in VintonAfter giving first priority to the Safety aspect of H&S Day, it’s nice to see that our colleagues in Vinton, Mexico, dedicated some time and effort to the Health aspect as well.

P. S. Venkat, CEO of ArcelorMittal Mexico, planted a tree at the oxygen plant area as a sign of green area commencement. Then everyone went for a ‘Fun Walk’ which lasted 30 minutes. Judging from their smiles in the photo they really did have a good time, and why not? Exercise does not have to be a chore!

Health and Safety providers also gave free medical check-ups, flu shots, dental checkups, chiropractic foot massages, and Health awareness and Safety equipment demonstrations. Approximately 350 people attended the event. And just to show that exercise and fun can go together, the day ended with a soccer game between ArcelorMittal Metal Processing and ArcelorMittal Vinton. Just in case you are wondering, Metal Processing won 6 to 1. Rematch on Health and Safety Day 2009?

Awesome job from the collaborator ‘christian skertchly’. She is one of the rare people who did make a difference in our factory with her nice monthly magazine that we all liked and waited inpatiently every month.
