Bennie du Plessis, South Africa: “We make a difference wherever we operate”
South Africa being our country of the month, today we present you another member of our South African team: Bennie du Plessis who is Plant Manager Engineering Cold Rolling at Vanderbijlpark Works, South Africa.
Among other things, Bennie is responsible for creating a safe and healthy environment through the maintenance activities he manages and for creating a profitable business. He says that he is proud to be part of a business like ArcelorMittal South Africa and appreciates the knowledge management programmes, which allowed him to improve his knowledge on different subjects and also to change his perspective on various issues.
For Bennie it was a natural move to start his career at the site as members of his family worked there and the company was part of the community he lived in. He endorses the new brand values because he says that everyone wants to invest into tomorrow and he believes that if we focus on people excellence and the continuous improvement thereof, the improved quality of products will follow.
