ArcelorMittal South Africa Horses some meters away from the blast furnace? Yes, it is possible, in South Africa where ArcelorMittal has 4 major facilities. ArcelorMittal South Africa is Africa’s premier steel producing company, employing nearly 9,500 people and producing 7 million tonnes of liquid steel per year.

ArcelorMittal South Africa has a depth of technical and managerial expertise carefully nurtured since 1928 when the company – then known as Iscor – was established and has become a modern, highly competitive supplier of steel products to the domestic and global markets.

Between 2007 and 2011 ArcelorMittal South Africa will spend almost half a billion dollars as part of its expansion programme to increase its liquid-steel output from 7 to 9.5 million tonnes by 2011. Rick Reato, CEO of ArcelorMittal South Africa says that he is optimistic about the future and the direction that the company is taking.
