Thanks to the Economist, a new word has been entered into the global business lexicon: ‘Mittalic’. Find out what it means so that you can start using it today!

An article in the Economist on January 2007, entitled ‘A new breed of multinational company has emerged’, describes as ‘Mittalic’ the meteoric global rise of CFO Aditya Mittal and CEO and President Mr Mittal, from owning a small steel plant in Indonesia to the helm of ArcelorMittal – the world’s largest steel company.

The article goes on to say that the likely trend is that more newcomers will “burst out of nowhere to take the world by storm” to amass businesses in all parts of the world, as our Group has done. “I see plenty of scope for growth in developing countries and plenty of opportunities for consolidation in developed countries,” Mr Mittal is quoted as saying.

The only way is up

A new word has entered into our vocabulary and in some ways, all 320,000 ArcelorMittal people around the world are partially responsible, because we contributed to the admired reputation our company has today!

So the next time you witness someone achieving lightening fast, all-encompassing success – whether on a global or smaller scale – don’t forget to call that success: ‘Mittalic’. We might just be on to something!

    Mr. Mittal,
Your meteoric global rise is truly spectacular. Your success story has inspired me to create a strategic alliance offer of a near zero pollution alternative energy plan that could save your operations hundreds of millions of dollars. I think it will also add tremendous value to your recently reported coal acquisitions as this technology bundle solution includes the worlds most advanced form of coal refining that also generates additional hundreds of millions in revenue from refined byproducts that will include green deisel and cleaner burning jet fuel.
It would be an honor to be ‘Mittalic’ and pattern our success after your fantastic global business results.
    Sincerely,
    Gary Grimshaw
