The future is “Mittalic”
Thanks to the Economist, a new word has been entered into the global business lexicon: ‘Mittalic’.
An article in the Economist on January 2007, entitled ‘A new breed of multinational company has emerged’, describes as ‘Mittalic’ the meteoric global rise of CFO Aditya Mittal and CEO and President Mr Mittal, from owning a small steel plant in Indonesia to the helm of ArcelorMittal – the world’s largest steel company.
The article goes on to say that the likely trend is that more newcomers will “burst out of nowhere to take the world by storm” to amass businesses in all parts of the world, as ArcelorMittal has done.
This new word has now entered into our vocabulary and in some ways, all 320,000 ArcelorMittal people around the world are partially responsible, because they all contributed to the admired reputation the company has today.
