For the first time since the civil war, groups from different communities of the Prijedor region in Bosnia gathered for a folklore festival. This symbolic event, fully organised by ArcelorMittal Prijedor on the occasion of its Mining Day, shows ArcelorMittal’s concern for reconciliation in the communities where it operates.

Folklore groups from the Serb, Muslim, Ukrainian, Macedonian and Croatian communities from the Prijedor region in Bosnia participated in the folklore festival, which took place on December 17, 2007.

Although folklore groups regularly organise shows in each of their respective communities, this was the first time since the civil war that groups from different communities of the Prijedor region agreed to dance during a common event.

The festival, free of charge for spectators and broadcasted on the local TV, was a huge success and all groups were greeted by enthusiastic applauses and cheers.
