KARA, the new ArcelorMittal brand for ferritic solutions

Stainless Europe announces the birth and launch of KARA, the new brand dedicated to its ferritic solutions. The ferritic range differs from other stainless steel because it does not contain nickel and is thus not subject to price fluctuations of this alloying element.

The new brand KARA was launched internally in July 2007 at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It has been presented to European customers during a road show which was an opportunity to present the new ArcelorMittal brand and the new names of Stainless entities to customers.

Jean-Yves Gilet, Member of the Management Committee and Responsible for Stainless Steel Worldwide, said that KARA embodied ArcelorMittal’s spirit of boldness and that with this new brand they wished to be recognised as the market reference for ferritic steels and to provide a benchmark for this material.
