It was praise all around for ArcelorMittal Brasil as it recently recorded huge online numbers of people interested in a career at ArcelorMittal. This demonstrates the company’s strong and positive image in the job seeking community.

Márcio Mendes, Vice-President of Human Resources and Institutional Relations, ArcelorMittal Brasil, recently reported that they have had 134,433 unique visits to their website from people looking for information about the global resourcing for engineers programme in 2007.

Of the total number of those visitors from October 15 to December 10, 18,157 had the required profiles and filled out the forms to work at ArcelorMittal Brasil. 6, 451 were engineers. Márcio pointed out that there are only 60 vacancies for engineers to work in Brazil, 60 vacancies for engineers to work abroad and 24 vacancies in several professions to work in Brazil.

Bernard Fontana, Member of the Management Committee and Responsible for Human Resources for ArcelorMittal said that they had decided to increase the sourcing from Brazil from 60 engineers to 80 to 100, as the global demand for engineers they faced was higher than expected.
