ArcelorMittal at mining conference in Algeria
Algeria’s first International Exhibition and Conference on Mineral Resources took place in the capital Algiers on December 2-4. ArcelorMittal, which has two mines with an annual production capacity of 2 million tonnes of iron ore in Algeria, was there!
Organised by the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mining, the conference was an opportunity for public authorities and private companies to debate about the reforms of the Energy and Mining sector. Over the table were industrial, geological, legislative, regulatory and institutional matters.
ArcelorMittal also had a stand in the exhibition that run in parallel to the conference, a good opportunity to introduce the brand and its philosophy to the Algerian stakeholders. The company’s presence in the exhibition has already provided a positive outcome: the company has been requested to participate in the Gara Djebilet project, the biggest mineral reserve in Algeria.
