ArcelorMittal ranked 93 in the top 100 most respected companies in the world
Only a few months after the official launch of ArcelorMittal’s new identity as the world’s biggest steel company, the company has been rated as number 93 on the third annual Barron’s Survey of the most respected companies in the world for 2007.
The Barron’s survey is the only ranking of corporate reputation based exclusively on the views of professional investors. In this year’s decision making process, professional investors clearly viewed Leadership (one of ArcelorMittal’s three values) as the key to corporate respectability.
The annual list is decided on by money managers around the world. These rankings are extremely important. The companies on this list are those which have gained the respect of the investment community out of all the companies in the world. As companies gain respect, their stocks tend to become more valuable, so this is a list that investors pay attention to in the future.
Nicola Davidson, VP, Head of Corporate Communications said: “It’s a fantastic honour to already be ranked in the top 100 most respected companies in the world in our debut year. We should all be very proud, but there is still room for improvement. We are now embarking upon the next exciting chapter of ArcelorMittal: that of living the brand and upholding our three core values of Quality, Leadership and Sustainability every day. As a team, we can make ArcelorMittal achieve its long-term reputational and strategic ambitions.”
