How did Mr Mittal become the Man of Steel?
The Daily Telegraph answers the question above in a full colour 6-page article published in its weekly Magazine on September 8.
“An industrialist with an exhausting schedule and an unfailing eye for a business opportunity.” That’s how the Telegraph Magazine presents ArcelorMittal CEO, Lakshmi Mittal, in the article “Man of Steel.” Despite Mr Mittal’s tight agenda, journalist Tim Bouquet managed to conduct a series of interviews with him and some close collaborators to create this article and also co-write the book “Cold Steel”, which will be published in April 2008.
The article describes how Mr Mittal’s journey began in Sadulpur, in the north-west of India, in a modest home without water or electricity, and how his facility for numbers helped him graduate top of his class in Commerce and to join his father’s business aged 19. “My father is the man I admire the most,” says Mr Mittal who has largely followed his father’s creed: “Accept challenges. Don’t get scared by new prospects.”
Mr Mittal started making 30,000 tonnes of steel a year. It took him 13 years to get up to 330,000. In the article Mr Mittal explains how difficult that was and also how he likes to hang out with workers in the factory canteen because “that’s where you find the soul and pulse of a company.” He still genuinely loves the fire, steam, noise and smell of the mill. According to the magazine he is probably the only steel magnate who can operate the control panel of a plant.

In my opinion it is not a good idea to have an idol. Idol is not appropriate thing to worhip. Idolry is prohibited. We must to worship only God, not a human. Brilliant success in business can be only an example how to achieve success like that.
