ArcelorMittal has been officially selected to the EuroStoxx50, the European stock market index, gathering the main companies in the EuroZone by free-float market capitalisation. The inclusion will take effect from 24 September 2007.

“Congratulations to all. A fantastic accomplishment!” commented Aditya Mittal, Chief Financial Officer of ArcelorMittal, when he learnt the news.

This inclusion is very important for ArcelorMittal, because the company is now part of the European “blue chip” index, which is the most important stock market index and the reference in Europe. In comparison, the CAC40 or the AEX national indexes are seen as local benchmark by global investors. Mechanically, this will bring ArcelorMittal many new large shareholders but also a broader exposure to the investor community in Europe, Asia and America.

Not only shareholders will benefit from ArcelorMittal’s inclusion in the EuroStoxx50. For employees and other stakeholders this achievement means that ArcelorMittal will be more visible for the international community: the company will be more present in the press, more attractive for job seekers…

ArcelorMittal was close to being included in the EuroStoxx50 last year. This time, the company is not only included, but also in a very good position: 28 out of 50!
