Dofasco celebrated a major Health and Safety milestone on August 16 2007, after achieving 100 days with no lost-time injuries.

Only one week after Mr Mittal’s visit to Dofasco in Hamilton, Canada, and with his compliments about their Health and Safety record still ringing in their ears, there was additional reason to celebrate: 100 days with no lost-time injuries!

This is a major step forward for Dofasco’s Journey to Zero initiative and demonstrates that the company’s goal of zero accidents is achievable. Dofasco employs approximately 6,000 people at its Hamilton, Canada Flat Carbon Steel facilities.

Commenting on the milestone, Dofasco President and CEO Juergen Schachler said that their focus must be on sustaining their performance in this area, while continuing to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of their Health and Safety programme and congratulated everyone on their hard work and commitment for making zero accidents possible.
