ArcelorMittal Poland, the largest steel producer in Poland, opened the new hot strip mill on its Cracow site on July 27. The USD 381 million erection has been the largest and the most technologically advanced investment in the European steel industry for 20 years. That important day was also chosen to present the new ArcelorMittal brand in Poland.

The new hot strip mill will supply state-of-the-art products for the automotive and white goods industries. The mill was a symbol of transformation of the Polish steel sector into a modern industry with a potential to compete with Western European counterparts, said Gregor Münstermann, CEO of ArcelorMittal Poland.

The same day the new hot strip mill was inaugurated, ArcelorMittal launched its new global brand identity and design in Poland. A press release was sent to Polish media where CEO and President Lakshmi Mittal presented the brand positioning and values.
