On July 12, ArcelorMittal Sao Paulo, which produces mesh, truss and CA 60 (used in civil construction), received the Governador do Estado (State Governor) São Paulo Trophy, of the Paulista Award of Management Quality (PPQG), cycle 2007. This year, 52 organisations divided into three categories participated in the PPQG.

Launched in May 2003, ArcelorMittal Sao Paulo is one of ArcelorMittal Belgo’s drawing mills with an installed capacity for 102 thousand tons per year of products. The unit has ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) certifications.

2007 marks the second time that the company took part in the PPQG. In 2006, it received the gold medal in the category of “Middle Sized Companies”.

The award, coordinated by the Paulista Institute of Management Excellence, confirms the consistency of the ArcelorMittal São Paulo Long Steel Management System – Mesh and Truss. Eight criteria are considered when choosing the best companies: leadership, strategies and plans; customers; society; information and knowledge; people; processes; and results inspired in the model of the National Quality Award.
