2007 global KMP: Slab Casting, Hot Rolling and Blast Furnace
ArcelorMittal’s Slab Casting, Hot Rolling and Blast Furnace operations managers came together at the end of June in Paris, Rotterdam and Bremen, respectively, for their global Knowledge Management Programme (KMP) meetings.
As well as being the first opportunity for the global peer groups to meet and build their networks, the meetings focused on subjects of the greatest value for their process areas. The success of the meetings was in a large part due to the thorough preparation led by the co-ordinating teams.
The meetings are only one part of the whole KMP programme, which aims to foster a continual knowledge exchange between managers of similar operations across the group. A critical factor in enabling this is to ensure that all managers speak the same technical language when referring to performance in their operations.
