From June 5 to 7, participants from around the world gathered for the next stage in ArcelorMittal’s global Knowledge Management Programme (KMP). Operations managers responsible for Hot Dip Galvanizing and Basic Oxygen Furnace facilities came together in Rotterdam and Fos-sur-Mer respectively. In each event, around 40 participants benchmarked performance, exchanged best practices, reviewed the latest technological developments and further developed their global network.

The open exchanges, informative presentations and overall organisation of the event resulted in two highly successful meetings identifying to managers many opportunities to enhance their operational performance. Additionally, during the breaks participants were able to discuss specific issues in their shops with their peers. These exchanges were especially useful for units facing interesting challenges ahead.

In all, participants left the meeting with many ideas on improving their operations, and an extended network of colleagues to consult for the challenges ahead.
