As part of the events at the three-day Leadership Conference (29 to 31 May), the new Arcelor Mittal brand has now been launched in Cannes. The famous American astronaut Neil Armstrong commended the new company for its boldness.

At this very first Leadership Conference of the new company, bringing together 500 top managers in the group, President and CEO Lakshmi Mittal declared that Arcelor Mittal was now in a stronger position to influence positive future change in the industry. He explained that moving towards an integrated and aligned company would not be possible under the old Arcelor and Mittal logo.

One hallmark of the merger process was the emphasis placed on honesty and transparency, valuing communication amongst the Arcelor Mittal people. A web site had been set up in advance of the Leadership Conference where delegates were invited to say what it was they most wanted to get out of the event.

The new Corporate Movie was played for the audience, finally unveiling the new logo and earning a rousing standing ovation. The new Arcelor Mittal global advertising campaign was also revealed. The rollout of the new brand will occur throughout Arcelor Mittal and across the globe over the next 12 months.
