Arceo and R&D team members received Arcelor Mittal GMB members, Lakshmi Mittal and Michel Wurth for a visit of the Liège facilities. The R&D pilot lines (organic & PVD) as well as the development of the new processes and products were explained during the visit.

Arceo is a start-up, subsidiary of Arcelor Mittal, created in partnership with the Walloon Region. They started with a new coating process called physical vacuum deposition (PVD) in 2005. The PVD process includes a family of vacuum techniques for coatings and surface treatments. While the PVD process is widely used for other materials such as glass and plastic, Arceo are the very first to use this process for steel.

Lakshmi Mittal was quite impressed with the facilities and congratulated all the present members.
